Defining a DE&I communication strategy through collaboration.
Internal engagement and co-creation / Communications strategy / Training
Brief
Givaudan, the world’s largest fragrance and flavouring company, has relied on Lundquist for support in meeting stakeholder expectations and adapt its online corporate communications to evolving business needs. Recently, our client engaged us to develop a communication strategy for its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) efforts, aiming to address the rising demands of both internal and external stakeholders.
Our goals were to create an integrated DE&I communication plan by collaborating across functions and to identify actionable steps for communicating DE&I in different corporate digital channels.
Our Work
Building on our longstanding partnership with Givaudan spanning nearly two decades, we partnered with the company to develop a tailored solution for their needs. Our focus was to cater to diverse audiences and stakeholders while maintaining a credible and distinct communication approach.
Through an interactive workshop involving representatives from HR, sustainability and communications, we co-created a new DE&I communication strategy.
The half-day session spotlighted key DE&I topics and priorities as well as strengths and opportunities for improvement in the company’s communication approach, leading to the collective design of a DE&I communication plan.
Result
The workshop facilitated a significant shift in perspective among Givaudan’s internal teams. This transformation towards a more integrated and authentic DE&I communication approach emphasizes not just adding content to the corporate website, but also refining existing information to genuinely convey the company’s commitment.
Through cross-functional collaboration and mutual listening, a fresh approach to DE&I communication emerged, addressing this business-critical topic more effectively.
