A dual approach to developing & integrating sustainability content for the report & web
#Internal engagement and training
We were asked to produce the 2015 Sustainability Report following GRI G4 guidelines, adapting relevant content for the corporate website. For the following year report we were also asked to illustrate how Sisal’s sustainability commitment creates value for stakeholders, linking the external context and challenges with corporate activities and initiatives.
DEFINING CONTENT FOR THE WEBSITE
Applying the reporting concept and key messages developed in the 2016 Sustainability Report, we re-structured and re-wrote the content for Sisal’s sustainability section on the corporate website.
2016 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT: A RENEWED FOCUS
The goal of Sisal’s 2016 sustainability report was not only to showcase priorities and actions but also raise the profile of sustainability internally.
We revisited reporting goals, key messages and structure. Our narrative developed from one based on internal perspectives to one aimed at describing the value inherent in the relationships between Sisal and its stakeholders.
To mark this shift to ‘stakeholder consciousness’ and link more effectively Sisal’s sustainability efforts with the external context, we brought in important voices from Italian society, sport and politics.
In addition to writing all the text content of the report in Italian, we supported the graphic layout for a more striking and effective document.
2015 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT
We conducted a communications review of the 2014 report highlighting strengths & weaknesses and proposed guidelines for improving the content and structure.
Detailed planning of chapters, and mapping critical issues, helped us bring to prominence sector-relevant topics such as “Responsible Gaming.”
We encouraged a more personal approach to reporting on sustainability through Q&A interviews with senior management (which were also deployed online).
We produced the entire content of the 2015 sustainability report in Italian and used our partner agency yvat & klerb for the graphical project.
Sisal published its sustainability reports each year in September with a special event in Rome. In 2016, the event focused on marking the company’s 70th anniversary while in 2017 it drew on the main theme of the report (creating value in society). The online sustainability content was totally revised in 2017.
