Innovating an award-winning sustainability report

Build upon Reale Mutua’s reporting approach – recognised as the best in the insurance category at previous year’s Oscar di Bilancio, Italy’s most highly regarded reporting awards – and use the sustainability report to communicate the business benefits of the company’s approach to sustainability not only in the traditional Italian insurance business but in all parts of the new Reale Group.

Our work


We conceived, created and wrote headline “stories” that illustrate the cross-cutting way that sustainability is understood at Reale Mutua, touching upon different aspects of the insurer’s activity, from the development of new welfare products to an inter-generational approach to human resources (including Q&As with the company’s chairman and general manager).

We revised and re-wrote initial drafts of some chapters to make them more legible, clear and coherent with the overall style. We supplemented the traditional, printed document with a visually engaging interactive PDF, optimised for viewing and navigation on-screen, and worked closely with the client’s graphic agency to ensure the visual elements fully supported the content strategy


We devised a communications plan – shared with the company’s media relations, internal communications, marketing and social media teams – to take the key contents and messages of the sustainability report to relevant audiences, tailoring actions to the stakeholders involved.


Reale Mutua’s 2014 sustainability report was presented in both a “for print” version and an interactive “on screen” version, supported by a communications campaign focused on telling its most important stories to key audiences both internally and externally.

Reale Mutua appreciated the solution and asked us to support them with content and editing for the 2015 report, which went live in mid-2016.
