We were approached by Generali to help them improve their company-related content on Wikipedia.
We granted them complete access to our comprehensive knowledge base about how companies can approach Wikipedia by abiding by the encolpedia’s rules. We also offered our full support and training programme to enable them to become autonomous in the editing process.
Analysis & action plan
We mapped and evaluated Generali’s related entries on Wikipedia using the Lundquist Wikipedia Research protocol in order to spot existing gaps. We then produced an action plan which clearly identified the edits allowed by Wikipedia, and which we were then able to carry out to fill those gaps.
Creation of an entry about the company CEO
We carried out a feasibility analysis to understand whether a stand-alone entry about Generali’s CEO Philippe Donnet would be in line with Wikipedia’s rules.
Afterwards, we gathered all information about Donnet’s professional and life experiences and drafted a proposal to be submitted to the Wikipedia community. We engaged Generali throughout the process, detailing why every action was taken.
Training & ongoing support
The project, as well as the support we provide, are ongoing.
The CEO’s bio has been approved by the Wikipedia community and can be read here (see also the bio to the left). The English version has been translated from the original Italian.
Many other small edits were carried out and continue to be carried out by Generali on additional company related content.
