We welcomed a full house to the 2016 Lundquist European Seminar on Digital Corporate Communications & 15th Webranking Awards. The event was covered exclusively in Corriere Economia.
The event held on November 30th at the headquarters of leading Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera recognised excellence in online corporate communications. Check out the official video from the event here.
We presented the findings and awarded the winners of the Webranking 2016-2017 Italian Listed and Non-Listed research and Swiss Listed research, heard first hand experiences of how companies deal with crisis communication, discussed digital governance, held panel discussions on integrated company strategy, and provided a preview to our upcoming CSR Online Awards research.
Massimo Fracaro, Editor-in-Chief of the weekly Corriere Economia publication, introduced the event. Joakim Lundquist, CEO of Lundquist, followed and discussed key trends over the past year in corporate comms.
Our guest keynote speaker Martin Riecken, Head of Crisis Communications, Group Corporate & External Affairs at TUI Group and formerly of Lufthansa, recounted his experiences of handling massive crisis communications situations, such as the April 2015 Germanwings crash.
After an interesting and unique presentation that drew many questions from the packed audience, Joakim Lundquist introduced our panel on crisis communications. The three speakers drew on their experiences of handling comms crises in Eni, Swisscom and Lufthansa.
Following this, the guests and speakers mingled amongst each other, taking advantage of Swedish delights provided by Bjork.
In the second part of the event, Joakim Lundquist, James Osborne, Head of Sustainability & Partner at Lundquist and Sara Rusconi, Partner of Lundquist took to the stage.
Joakim discussed the evolution of the corporate website and the tough choices companies need to make. James followed with a sneak preview of the upcoming CSR Online Awards, which looks at how sustainability is becoming a key part of corporate comms. Sara Rusconi ended the session by making the case for content strategy and why it makes business sense to put one in place.
After a koselig Swedish lunch, Kevin Lancashire, Head of External Communications, Digital Strategy and Channels, Group Communications at Roche showed how he tackles digital governance for one of Europe’s largest pharmaceutical companies. With over 1,500 digital channels to manage, this guy knows what he’s talking about!
We then kicked off our panel discussion on integrated content strategy at work. The speakers, representing well-known companies from a mix of sectors, discussed the strategies they have in place to communicate to their audiences.
After the coffee break, the Webranking-focused presentations kicked off. Staffan Lindgren, Managing Partner at Comprend, used the case study ABB to present the evolution of the website, and provided his predictions for the upcoming communications trends. Martina Scapin, Consultant & Media Relations at Lundquist, followed and spoke on how Webranking can help you understand your audiences. Caroline Becker, Project Manager of Webranking at Lundquist, presented the Italian non-listed study, and how the food and beverage sector is improving leaps and bounds.
The event closed with the awards ceremony for top three listed companies in Italy and Switerzerland and non-listed companies in Italy (see our blog post for more information and pictures of the winners).
To stick to the Nordic tradition, the event concluded with a Swedish aperitif.
