Findings from our latest research, as reported by Bilanz, reveal that Switzerland is setting a steady pace when it comes to digital corporate communications. This year we evaluated 52 companies.

SwisscomSika and Sonova maintain their dominance in the ranking, as they find themselves yet again on the Swiss podium. Swisscom, this year’s winner, also makes it into the top 10 of the European ranking, the first time a Swiss company has been in the top 10 in Europe in the last 5 years, while second and third place Sika and Sonova secure their spot in the European top 20.

Amongst the best improvers, we see travel retailer Dufry, having launched a new website this year, and private markets firm Partners Group.

To really reach your stakeholders, transparency in digital communications is key

The article explains that despite the increasing importance of transparency amongst stakeholders, progress has stalled amongst Swiss companies, with the average score increasing a mere 0.4 points.

Webranking works as a stress test, in that it measures the fundamentals of online corporate and financial communications and dialogue of the largest listed companies, based on stakeholder demands. The Swiss pass rate this year decreased, from 36% to 31%. Although it’s not all bad news – fewer fail as well (from 10% to 8%), with the majority finding themselves in the held back segment (61%).

Swisscom, Sika & Sonova: Ones to watch

Swisscom is lauded for its transparency in communicating its governance structure, and presenting its executives renumeration figures, which a mere 17% of Swiss companies do.

Sika’s sustainability campagin “More Value, Less Impact” illustrates the company’s commitment to maximize the value of its solutions and contrubitions to alle stakeholders while reducing risks and resource consumption . Videos, infographics, images and project descriptions on the corporate insight render the content more engaging.

Sonova drives emotional engagement with their audience through storytelling, creating a pleasant digital experience.
